Q and A - Sperm

"I heard that sperm has to grow at a different temperature, is that true?" Actually, yes. One of the reasons the testes grow away from the body during puberty is because sperm likes to grow at a lower temperature than the rest of the body. If we're about 98.6, sperm likes to grow at about 4 degrees colder than that, at about 94.6. So, sperm is always growing at a cooler temperature than the body. That's also why the testes move around. In fact, they are always moving around to find the perfect temperature to grow sperm. Good question. "What happens if the sperm comes out of a boy's body? Will they be able to feel it?" Well, if a person was awake and semen came out of them, they would be able to feel it because there is a pleasurable feeling that comes along with it. Its called an orgasm. But if sperm came out while a person was sleeping, that would be called a wet dream and a person might not even notice that it happened. So, there's the answer to that question. "Is sperm alive?" Well, just like all of the cells in our bodies, sperm cells are alive. We have skin cells here that are alive and skin cells that are flaking off and dying. Sperm cells are kind of like that. Some sperm are alive and some are dying and are absorbed back into the body.
